9/11 BULLSHIT - CONSPIRACY CONSHMIRACY

Why all "9/11 was an inside job" theories are bullshit.

The main reason I say that is they never make any logical sense if you think them out. I’ll give you a couple glaring examples.

1. They would involve too many people.

Most of the theories, if not all, are very involved and would take quite a few conspirators. A crazy amount. And not just any bunch of crackpots, but many highly skilled and placed people. How would you get so many American citizens to do something so completely fucked up to their own countrymen? And then keep them all quiet? You’d need to be quite paranoid to believe evil like that is so easily come by.

2. They are unnecessarily and ridiculously complicated.

The top claim of these folks is that the 3 building collapses that day where “controlled demolitions” rather than brought down by the jets and resulting fire and damage. They think that because the buildings fell in a similar fashion to controlled demolitions, which are done to get a building to fall into it’s own footprint, that it points to it being an “inside job”. But they never consider how completely illogical that would be. Why do a difficult controlled demo when an uncontrolled one would suit the conspirator’s purposes a billion times better? Controlled demos are painstakingly done (they aren’t easy to set up) to avoid damaging property, or people, around the site. It’s pretty obvious the people behind 9/11 didn’t care about that! So why would they do it that way? It would be more difficult, more involved, more expensive, more risky, less believable, less suited to their goals, and completely asinine to do it that way. It makes no sense.

Though it is surprising and somewhat mysterious that the buildings collapsed the exact way they did, it does not point at all to an “inside job” conspiracy. It simply does not fit such a scenario. To believe it does is something like believing thunder proves the existence of the god Thor.

There’s also the theory that the Pentagon was hit by a missile rather than a jet. They go on about the hole shape and such but never explain why the conspirators would go to all the unnecessary bother to create a lie that it was a jet and not a missile. Why not simply say Al-Qaeda stole a missile? To create the lie it was a jet they’d have to disappear and entire jet, crew and passengers! If not that, then they’d have to hire actors to play the bereaved loved ones, fake all the documentation and get the airline to lie. More people for the ridiculous conspiracy! And what if someone got pictures of the missile coming in and turn their whole plan to shit! Why go to all that crazy bother and unnecessary risk when there is absolutely no point to it?! It would be utterly insane. Well, unless your conspirators were some sort of evil lunatic dada performance artists intent on doing the most insane thing they can come up with.

I could go on and on, but I really don’t want to waste my time. The problem is it’s endless. Whatever I say will not effect the people that really want to believe in this stuff. They will just come up with more “evidence” rather than seriously consider the fact they may be wrong. And there is no shortage of “evidence” for an intent and inventive mind to find or create.

That so many believe in this stuff is troubling. You can blame gullibility, stupidity, paranoia, anxiety, neurosis, hysteria, superstition, prejudice, our love of drama, the ego kick from having secret knowledge, a psychological need for our government to be a truly evil enemy, whatever. But I read about a certain experiment which found that some people have a mental quirk where they prefer and are impressed by a more complicated answer over a simpler one. It’s a strange bias that a large amount of people have. I hope it’s more about that.

One other thing to understand is that for many who are pushing this stuff it is a job. They make $ from it. Conspiracy theories are sometimes a business that can do quite well. Selling books, DVDs, lectures, bumper stickers, whatever. Many have made a living doing such.

And there can be other payoffs as well. Some revel in the attention or minor celebrity and fame they acquire from it. Others may enjoy the fraternity of likeminded people. And some just have a vested interest in seeing our government as evil. Reasons for believing can be multi-tiered and complex. And have little to do with the actual merit of the belief.

And all this mess comes together in one big stew of bullshit.
