Fox "News" Channel and the Cuckoo-train.
It seems the election and popularity of President Obama has driven many people completely cuckoo. Texas Governor Rick Perry talking about his state seceding from the good old USA being a prime example. You might think he’s just one nut but a pole found that around 51% of Texas republicans agreed with him! That’s fucking insane! People really are going way around the bend.
For a front row seat to the crazy train, go over to Fox “News” Channel. I used to find them somewhat amusing. Their “fair and balanced” slogan was such an blatant lie, and their on-air personalities such ridiculous buffoons, that it was hard to not laugh at them. But since Obama has taken office they seem to have shifted into extreme desperation mode, tossing aside every last shred of their already troubled integrity. While they have always said things that were patently untrue, I felt it was done more out of stupidity, bias and poor journalistic standards than outright malice or a complete lack of morals. Now they seem completely willing to knowingly create false news stories and blatantly lie in desperate attempts to artificially manufacture outrage. Their open promotion and participation in the recent “Tea Party”, yet insisting it was completely spontaneous and grass roots, being a prime example. They appear in a state of near panic or hysteric madness. They don’t just want Obama and the democrats to fail, they can’t accept a world in which they don’t.
For the crème-de-la-crème of FNC insanity, take a gander at Glenn Beck. He gets my vote for the dumbest and most deranged on-air freak show around. If he bit the head off a live chicken it would not be any more idiotically bizarre and nonsensical. Can anyone really be such a colossal douche? One's mind actually gets woozy trying to accept it's actually real and not just some strange fever-dream, LSD flashback, or crazy put-on. It’s so mind-boggling bad I’m actually shocked even Fox would have this idiot on it’s roster. And that he actually gets fools to guest on it, lending an illusion of some sort of respectability, is very sad. But worst of all is that there are people out there who actually take this moronic sack-o-shit seriously. That is tragic and frightening. He’s not merely a harmless fool spreading non-sense, but rather a deranged siren luring people into a sewer of ignorance, fear, paranoia, hate, and misplaced outrage.
I’m giving him too much credit. He’s basically a tragically unfunny clown/whore. But all those who are attempting to drive up the level of fear and outrage for no other reason than ratings, ego or political points, are scum.
