I saw him on 60 minutes and he didn’t seem too bad for a TV preacher. I got the impression he was more a of a humanist than a Bible thumping fundamentalist. And to a degree he is, but when I watched his actual TV show he was pushing the horrid “Prosperity Gospel” I so despise. The “believe and God will give you all the crap you want” sort of nonsense. He pushed the point over and over. “God wants to give you blessings!” “Your job is to believe!” He even gave credit to God for that jet landing miraculously on the Hudson river. Never mind all the other plane crashes that didn’t go so well! I guess they were all full of nonbelievers!

It was a truly disgusting display of stupidity and arrogance. I think the poor sap actually believes his nonsense, which places him way above the liars and blatant hypocrites you find so often preaching. Regardless, it’s shallow religion for morons. Selling the promise of wish fulfillment. No deeper than Santa Claus.
